The Third in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Sauron's forces have laid siege to Minas Tirith, the capital of Gondor, in their efforts to eliminate the race of men.The once-great kingdom, watched over by a fading steward, has never been in more desperate need of its king. But can Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) answer the call of his heritage and become what he was born to be? In no small measure, the fate of Middle-earth rests on his broad shoulders. With the final battle joined and the legions of darkness gathering, Gandalf (Ian McKellen) urgently tries to rally Gondor's broken army to action. He is aided by Rohan's King Theoden (Bernard Hill), who unites his warriors for history's biggest test. Yet even with their courage and passionate loyalty, the forces of men--with Eowyn (Miranda Otto) and Merry (Dominic Monaghan) hidden among them--are no match for the enemies swarming against Gondor. Still, in the face of great losses, they charge forward into the battle of their lifetimes, tied together by their singular goal to keep Sauron distracted and give the Ring Bearer a chance to complete his quest. Their hopes rest with Frodo (Elijah Wood), a tiny but determined hobbit making a perilous trip across treacherous enemy lands to cast the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom. The closer Frodo gets to his final destination, the heavier his burden becomes and the more he must rely on Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin). Gollum-and the Ring itself-will test Frodo's allegiances and, ultimately, his humanity. -From the Lord of the Rings.net

The Return of the King 2003
I saw RotK the day after it came out (to my great dismay) and I absolutely loved it. I thought the story was amazing (although Peter Jackson did change it slightly from the book version) and I thought the acting, graphics and script was very, very good. The music by Howard Shore was also amazing! I probably cried about 6 different times throughout the entire film...some of it was very moving. My faourite parts were probably the end when they (Aragorn and Arwen) kiss, also when Faramir fights (even if I don't like the race of men) and when Arwen sees Eldarion, her son in the arms of an older King Aragorn and decides to turn back and confront her father about re-forging the sword of the King. I give this film 5 out of 5 stars. This was a masterpiece to end the greatest trilogy of all time! -Webmistress Eruanna of Rivendell
Other's Reviews
Before I saw 'The Return of the King', I already thought Peter Jackson was brilliant. But after I saw RotK, words could not begin to describe his genius. The special effects were stunning, especially the Battle of Pelennor Fields. Also, the music almost brought me to tears. It was so inspiring and thought provoking. Elijah Wood (Frodo) and Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) made stunning performances. My favorite part was Gandalf and Pippin's ride into Minas Tirith (which was also the most AMAZING set in all of the movies!), when they were fending off the Nazgul. I also liked Legolas' hysterical scene with the Mumakil! Like always, Gollum was a stunning CGI character, but the ghosts from the Paths of the Dead were amazing also. This movie was very emotionally touching, and I cried about six times, especially at the end at the Grey Havens (hence my website's name). In my opinion, this is the best out of the three movies. I would give it five out of five stars, a very satisfying end to the best epic trilogy of our time! -Lomel-Gathiel (Webmistress of To the Grey Havens)Being obsessed with the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy, the fact that the third enstallment was amazing did not surprise me. The ending was long, but all parts are necessary. I loved that Arwen(Liv Tyler) risks everything for Aragorn(Viggo Mortensen) and although i knew this was going to happen and I found myself loving every minute of the Arwen/Argorn scenes. My only complaint is that Eowyn (Miranda Otto) and Faramir's(David Wenham) relationship is not shown enough(In the books they get together quite extensively) and also we do not see enough of Legolas(Orlando Bloom)(who is my favorite). I also hate how Elijah Wood is supposed to be the main character when Aragorn and Sam(Sean Astin) are the real heroes. None the less I give it 5 stars on 5! -Miriwen (LOL Car)
